I've been working for Vesteda as a rental agent since April 2004, and I still very much enjoy my work. I am primarily involved in letting out new homes in the regions of southern and central Limburg. This includes preparing rental price proposals, accompanying prospective tenants to view homes, organising open-house sessions, interviewing prospective tenants and, finally, preparing rental contracts and dealing with the administrative details. For new building projects, as a rental agent, I am also closely involved in the initial phase of the project. In the development phase, for example, I can suggest limited changes in the floor plans, and I have considerable influence on the interior finishing when it comes to components such as the kitchen, bathroom and type of wall finish. I also monitor the number and type of homes which we offer for sale that remain empty and whether there are not too many homes for sale in a specific complex. Finally, I coordinate the rental activities for our commercial housing units. If notice is given by a tenant, I discuss the matter with several commercial estate agents and then work with my manager to make a selection from the potential candidates. During the entire rental process, I remain the primary contact person for the commercial estate agent involved.
Vesteda has given me ample opportunity to develop myself further. For example, I recently obtained my estate agent’s diploma, and our entire team is taking a refresher course in English focusing on the real estate sector. Within the given guidelines, I also have a great deal of freedom in my work, and I am encouraged to provide input in thinking things through. In brief, it's a great organisation to work for, and I have the opportunity to make a significant contribution and work on my own personal development.
