Submitting details using the Ockto app
For some properties, you can respond using the Ockto app on your phone. This app allows you to share your details with Vesteda digitally, easily and securely. This means you no longer need to collect and upload documents yourself.
Vesteda uses Ockto solely to verify your (income) details. We process your data securely and your privacy remains well protected.
During this pilot phase, Ockto is not yet available for all properties. If Ockto is not an option when applying, you can submit your details manually. The use of Ockto is always voluntary.
You need DigiD
Start well prepared
You need your DigiD to use the Ockto app. This is why we ask you to check in advance that you have the correct login details.
It is not possible to log in using the DigiD app. You need a username and password. Have you forgotten your username or password? If so, please read the information here on how to reset them.
Benefits of Ockto

- Vesteda receives only the information required to assess your tenancy application;
- You can submit all the necessary information quickly and easily in one go;
- Your information is submitted via a secure environment;
- You can be sure that the required information has been submitted fully and correctly.
- If you wish to rent with a co-tenant, you can submit your details separately. You do not need to be sitting at the same computer together to do so.
What data is retrieved via Ockto?
Ockto is used to retrieve the information required to assess your application properly. This involves two types of information:
- Personal information
Information required to verify your identity, such as your name, address and date of birth. - Income details
Information that provides details about your income. We use this information to assess whether you meet the income and allocation criteria.
Additional documents
In most cases, Vesteda can obtain all the necessary information required to assess your application via Ockto. In some situations, however, this is not possible because certain information is not (yet) available through government registers. In such cases, Vesteda will ask you to provide additional documents. These are exceptions.

In addition to the information retrieved via Ockto, Vesteda may request additional documents in the following cases:

| You wish to declare spousal maintenance you receive as income | Bank statement(s) showing proof of maintenance received |
| Your income details have not (yet) been fully registered with the Employee Insurance Agency (UWV) | Additional supporting documents (depending on the situation) |

How does Ockto work?

Submit your details quickly and safely
- Go to hurenbij.vesteda.com and request a viewing.
- Enter the requested information.
- Scan the QR code. If you don't have the Ockto app yet, you will be redirected to the App Store or Google Play.
- Download the Ockto app onto your phone and open the app.
- Log in with DigiD (twice: MijnOverheid and the Employee Insurance Agency (UWV)), check your collected details and give permission to send them
- You will be automatically redirected back to your HurenBij environment. Check your details and submit the viewing request.
Good to know
If Ockto is not listed as an option for the property, you can submit your details manually.
