In the Southwest district, at the foot of the Prince Claus Bridge, which was opened by Princess Maxima in 2003, is the beautiful complex De Staatsmannen. This complex consists of four apartment towers, each with the name of a statesman and this is also visible in an exceptionally beautiful way in the building, including "de Roosevelt" which owes its name to the American statesman and president Theodoor Roosevelt. In the 1904 presidential election, he became the first former vice president to be elected to a term of his own after the death of his predecessor. In 1906 Roosevelt became the first American to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. The building, which has seven floors, is well located in relation to the center of Utrecht, the A2 and A12 highways, the Papendorp office district, international school, public transport such as buses around the corner and Central Station within cycling distance.
