Priority internal relocation

Living in a house that meets your needs!

Are you, as a Vesteda tenant, looking for another property because something has changed in your living situation or because the current property no longer suits your needs and wishes?

This may happen because, for example, you now have a partner and you want to live together in a more spacious home, or it could also have to do with your health, making you prefer to live in a house where you don't have to use stairs. Vesteda will be happy to help you further to move internally to another Vesteda home. Additionally you are not required to pay a deposit and administration costs.

Check our current housing portfolio on the website to look for another suitable home! And we will treat your application as a tenant with priority.

Steps to take

what to do to move internally

You have found a new home at Vesteda. But what are the next steps?

  1. Looking for another home
Create an account and respond to the properties you want to view. Then send an e-mail to bezichtiging@vesteda.com and Vesteda will check your application for priority renting.
  2. Cancel current home
Before you receive the rental agreement for the new home, you must cancel the rental agreement for your current (old) home.
  3. How to hand over your home
A preliminary and final inspection will be scheduled at your old home. Any repair work will be recorded in an inspection report and will be agreed with you.
  4. Key transfer and transition period
You will receive the keys and the completion report of your new home. Take note: In many cases, the move cannot take place on the same day, which means that you may have to pay double rent for a short period of time.

Frequently asked questions and answers

Why does each property have income criteria?

The monthly rent has a significant impact on your budget. We want to prevent you from getting into financial problems because you are unable to pay the rent. In addition, Vesteda works for professional property owners such as pension funds and investors. Just like our tenants, they are also clients of Vesteda and expect us to select suitable tenants for our properties in a well-considered manner. This selection is based on:

  • Your income in relation to the rent
  • Your creditworthiness
  • ID fraud
  • Improper use of the rental property

We are aware that we ask you to provide a lot of personal information when you register for a rental property. It is good to know that any new neighbours you have are selected in the same manner.

If you have any questions about how we deal with your privacy, please contact us.

I will be moving out but my current co-tenant wants to continue renting the property. What should I do?

When one of the tenants remains in the property, you can submit a request for unilateral termination of the rent. Both tenants need to sign this request. We will then assess the details of the tenant wishing to stay. We will need a copy of a form of identification and three payslips. If our assessment shows that the remaining tenant is able to pay the rent, we will amend the rental contract.

How exactly does internal relocation work, given that current tenants get priority? Do they have to go through the same process through HurenbijVesteda?

You can create an account and respond to the homes you wish to view. You can then send an e-mail to bezichtiging@vesteda.com so that Vesteda can review your priority request.
